An adviser for the path to US college golf

Hourly help from a former NCAA Division I coach, whenever you need it.

I spent seven years as an NCAA Division I golf coach at Stephen F. Austin, Texas Tech and Baylor. Recruiting was a big part of the job: reading emails from recruits, watching them play, building rosters and making offers. Before that I went through it myself, from Norway to Baylor on a golf scholarship.

Now I help players and parents with the same process from the other side. You book me by the hour as an adviser, and you decide how much help you want. Some families book one session to get a plan. Others come back every few weeks until the player has signed.

It doesn't matter if you're early or late. A 14-year-old who wants to know what it takes and a senior who needs a school this spring both get a plan that fits where they are.

What we work on

From the first email to signing

Where you stand

We look at the player's scores, results, rankings and grades, and what level of college golf is realistic: NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA or junior college.

Which programs fit

A list of schools that fit the player's level, budget and studies, and where the roster has room for someone like them.

Contacting coaches

When to email coaches, which ones, and what to write so they actually read it. I spent seven years reading those emails as a coach.

Comparing offers

Visits, scholarship offers and the final choice between schools. What to ask, what the numbers mean, and what to watch out for.

An alternative to an agency

Many recruiting agencies sell a fixed package up front. That can make sense for some families, but you pay for the whole package whether you need it or not.

With me you pay per session and only for the help you use. The player and parents stay in charge of the process and the contact with coaches, and I'm the adviser in the background who has sat on the coach's side of the table.

How it works

  • First session: 2 hours, 3,625 NOK incl. MVA
  • Follow-up consultation: 50 min, 1,812.50 NOK incl. MVA
  • The first session is 2 hours. My goal is for you to start your recruiting process by the end of it.
  • In person at Vika Golf Club in Oslo, or on Google Meet from anywhere.
  • In Norwegian or English. Parents are welcome.
  • You pay when you book. Free to cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before.

What families say

“As a family in Norway, the world of US college athletics can be an intimidating place. Mikkel helped us map out the entire landscape, prioritize our needs, communicate with the relevant college coaches and reach a final decision.”
Fredrik Bach · Parent of D1 player
“His advice covered an initial selection of suitable colleges, the content and approach for initial contact with coaches, guidance throughout the process, and input on the final choice between universities and various scholarship offers.”
Thomas Farhang · Parent of a D1 signee and a D1 commit
“Mikkel was honest with us about my son's opportunities from day one. Thanks to his guidance, our son has now signed with a school that fits perfectly both athletically and academically.”
Odd Arne Johansen · Parent of D1 signee

Du betaler per time i stedet for en fast pakke hos et byrå, og det spiller ingen rolle om du er tidlig eller sent ute. I klubben på Aker Brygge eller på Google Meet.
